Basement living in NYC often means limited light, poor ventilation, and serious safety concerns — especially in older buildings where emergency exits don’t meet current code. Without proper egress systems, even a finished basement can become a hazard in the event of a fire or emergency. At Superior Restoration & Remodeling, our egress window installations are designed to meet IRC 2006 standards while enhancing your home’s safety, comfort, and resale value. We install code-compliant, energy-efficient windows that provide natural light, fresh air, and a reliable emergency escape route — all without compromising on aesthetics or insulation.

For more than 25 years, Superior Restoration & Remodeling Inc. has delivered professional egress system installations throughout New York City, including Midtown Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, as well as Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester County. Compact In-Swing Egress Windows

Compact single-hung, in-swing egress windows are designed to meet or exceed the emergency egress window requirements of the IRC 2006 code. They are ideal for basement or above-ground applications, whether for new construction or replacement installations.

These vinyl windows function as single-hung units during normal use, but in an emergency, a corner latch can be opened to swing the entire sash inward, clearing 5.7 square feet of space for safe escape. Standard sizes include 28" x 46" and 31" x 41" with either left or right hinges, and custom sizing is available in 1/4" increments.

These windows come in white or beige vinyl and can be custom ordered with optional decorative grids. Low-E and argon-filled glass upgrades are available for improved insulation and energy efficiency.

If you're planning a basement renovation, need to meet code, or want to protect your family with a proper emergency exit, Superior Restoration has you covered. Our egress systems offer performance, peace of mind, and long-term reliability across New York City, Long Island, and Westchester.
